50 posts officially on the blog... crazyy. And it's almost been one full year since Nutmeg started! But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it :)
Anyways, since it's the 50th post I figured that it would be the perfect time to talk about my big spring break plans! I haven't posted in a while, well, because I have been contemplating the best way to bring up this exciting news!
This spring break, instead of going home or going to the beach with friends, I'm going somewhere better. Sao Paolo, Brazil!!!
There it is! So Exciting!!
This will be the first time I have ever traveled out of the country, and I can't wait!! Why am I going to Sao Paolo, you ask? Well, I'm going with a group called Seeds of Hope, and basically for the past couple of years this group of UVA students has traveled to Brazil to essentially help build a trade school for orphans. Along with helping build the trade school, Seeds of Hope strives to be a positive influence on homeless children in the area by providing them with food, shelter, education, and opportunity.
I CAN'T WAIT TO GO! The only slight set back I have is the cost of the trip. In total, the trip costs ~$1600, which means I have some fundraising to do. With that said, I am officially announcing the start of my Seeds of Hope Bake Sale!
I will be baking and selling cookies in order to help raise money for the trip, and the proceeds from every cookie I bake will go towards Brazil. Let the baking begin!
I would be more than happy (who am I kidding? I would be so excited!) to bake any type of baked good for any type of occasion just for you. All you have to do is 'meg me!
I couldn't wait to share this exciting news with you all and can't wait to get started baking for Brazil! Thank you all for your support! You're all the greatest!!
